Hi
I want to play my music from my plex server on my mobile phone in the car whilst away from home without using my data allowance in my mobile (cell) phone contract.
I think Mobile Sync is the only way to do this - is this correct?
I have a largeish music libabry (c100K songs) - if I sync the library - is the number of files I can sync limited to the storage capacity in the phone (internal & sd card)? … If so this would be a problem for a large and growing library?
Reading through the mobile sync archive forum I couldn’t post in there - apologies if this post is in wrong place.
One final question - there seems to be lots of posts with people saying there are lots of issues/gripes/moans about the mobile sync service on Android. Is it problematic - or will it work fine for my situation? Are there any alternatives?
Any help to someone who is new to all this would be much appreciated
Thanks
@trumpy81 Thank you for taking the time to make such an extensive reply. It’s helped.
I am trying to educate myself… but my technical understanding of things is very very limited - but I;m enjoying learning.
I might appear very silly - but the one thing I still cant understand (even after re-reading info on Plex website about mobile sync and other ‘googling’ ive done… is Basically about how sync works…
Specifically im totally confused on the this part of my original post:

I know you have helped loads in your reply, and made a joke about this part of the post - I know I might look really silly - but im very confused - - could someone/you explain if I will need massive storage capacity to store the sync files on my phone - or does it work in someway im totally not understanding
Once again, thanks in advance
@trumpy81 Once again thanks so much for taking all that time to answer me. Great answer - I understand now… so sorry I am asking such basic questions… Thanks for your help
@trumpy81 PS the vinyl analogy was great - definitely not too old for me… I think part of my problem is I’m too old to get to grips with this technology!! all though I seem to be getting there slowly.
Many thanks
