Sometimes we want to autoplay something, others not so much. In the Xbox One version prior to the release ca. Jan 10, 2018 if the autoplay was disabled you could still “force it” by navigating to a series or a specific season and hitting the on-screen play button (to pick up a series/season where it was last played). I believe this experience was better overall and was more intuitive. As it stands, AP being disabled stops the older functionality (as it disables it globally), but AP being enabled is not really desirable in the use cases of deleting a show immediately after watching or when watching a block of various shows for the evening.
