The fact that you are trying to charge for people to watch my server is insane. Its my hardware and my network. You increase your prices remove watch together feature then block people from trying to watch my server. Its cheaper at this point to have Netflix. This is the beginging of the downfall of Plex you have lost a 7 year user and customer. Do better. Im sure some admin will just close this thread or post oh well too bad. Do a simple Google search last year Plex has gone way down hill. Do better.
Irony of you tagging this post “plexamp”: Plex does not require a Plex Pass or Remote Watch Pass for music streaming, only video streaming.
Nah, no one is going to close this thread or delete it. You were actually pretty tame in your venting of spleen.
If your users are being charged to watch your content, that means you yourself do not have a Plex Pass. Lifetime or subscription. If you did, nobody would be charged to watch remotely on your server.
I don’t disagree that subscriptions suck, but since you apparently aren’t paying them anything at all, I don’t think they really care that you are moving to something else.
I actually do pay for Plex Pass and its stil prompting people to pay. I just dont understand how they raise the prices and remove a big feature of watch together. Plex used to be great and I always recommended to people.

Make sure to log into the account that owns your Plex Pass subscription. In the first third of the page or so there’ll be a section which shows your subscription status. Ensure it is correct. If not, contact the billing department at Plex.
It shows I have plex pass monthly.
Then whichever account you’re using here isn’t showing it.
You should
- update your server software version to the latest stable version
- stop and restart your Plex server after buying a Plex Pass
- tell your shared users to shut down and restart their Plex clients. If they are part of a Plex Home, let them Switch User back and forth instead. Both measures should force the clients to refresh information on your server and thus detect the presence of a Plex Pass
