More Automated Ripping Process for Plex Library

Hi All.

I am new to the Plex Media Server scene and building my Movie/TV library. I have a bit over 400 movie titles and 800 TV episodes. While my library isn’t as large as some, I still ran into a problem during the ripping process and did not like how much time (anywhere from 2 to 7 minutes) between swapping discs it took for me to start another rip. Has anyone else ran into the same issue? How did you solve it?

I’m also a programmer and thought this might be a cool way to learn/grow my skills, so I made a little piece of software that works with MakeMKV(My ripping software of choice) for Windows that does a few things.

  1. It monitors the DVD/Blu-Ray(Optical) drives installed on a machine and automatically passes pre-determined flags to and starts the MakeMKV ripping process (The flags include the drive the disc is inserted to and minimum title length for ripping)
  2. Creates the destination folder based on user selected top folder and either the DVD’s volume name or custom title from user
  3. Names the files according to the name used in number 2
  4. Can be set as a TV series DVD/Blu-Ray and assigned a season and starting episode number, which then names and moves the titles to follow Plex’s naming conventions
  5. Notifies your mobile device (Android only right now) when a rip is done, so you know when you can start another while you’re off doing something else

I’ve attached a few screenshots showing the results of a rip. Everything is very much a prototype to test my ideas and refine how they work in the real world. Would this be worth sharing, or are others doing it better?
