Player Version#: 1.2.0.875-b7362913
iMac with macOS 10.13.6 (High Sierra)
Today’s new Plex-1.2.0 app does not change the default mouse pointer to a hand with finger like previous versions, and because it doesn’t change it, the pointer doesn’t auto hide when watching a video and the menus hide.
I tried restarting Plex app a few times. No joy.
I also tried “Always on Top” with no success.
Would a log file help?
I should probably try rebooting my iMac too.
Right on. On my High Sierra install, I see these results.
PMP-3.104.2 the pointer works fine.
Plex-1.0.0 the pointer works.
Plex-1.1.0 the pointer works but occasionally won’t go back to finger after mousing over Mac status bar. Going back Home, like a G then H, fixes the pointer.
Plex-1.2.0 the pointer never changes to a finger, ever. It never hides when watching a video.
I think I know what this is. Man, software is a slippery slope of subtle (and not so subtle) bumps.

I have the same issue with the pointer not disappearing on Windows 10 with this update. Didn’t feel it warranted a new topic since I’m sure it’s related.
Same thing with Plex 1.2.1 Preview (but not a surprise, as the changes are on the Open-GL side)
+1 on this. funny thing is i cant tell if this was always the case or something new
my experience:
Plex Media Player didn’t do this
Plex app v1.0 and v1.1 didn’t do this
Plex app v1.2 does this
Edit: to be more clear, occasionally on older players I’d get into a state where the cursor didn’t auto-hide, but it was easy to fix by switching to another app and back. Now in Plex v1.2 the cursor never goes away, which is super annoying. A static cursor on top of video playback is hard to ignore, even if you place it on the right edge where it’s mostly hidden.
This happens to me both on the new Windows app and macOS app, so this shouldn’t be OS dependent.
is this not an issue everyone is having?
Probably. But as noted above, it’s already on the dev’s radar:
I’ve noticed this as well when I was away for the long weekend. Very annoying. Ended up watching movie through a different standalone media player called PotPlayer.
I’m experiencing the same issue with the latest PMP for Windows. Annoying AF!
Is this in TV Mode or not? If the former, you should probably start a separate thread; this one is primarily about the new desktop players.
No, it’s not the TV mode. I’m talking about version 1.2.0.875-b7362913 PMP for Windows 10 64 Bit.
That’s not PMP which is a separate (older) player.
You’re talking about the (new) desktop Player for Windows which is a different software package/player.
(Confusing? Yes!)

Thanks for a prompt reply. So, you’re saying that I’m talking about the new desktop player for windows and this thread is about the new desktop player as well. It means I replied/posted in the right thread. Correct me if I’m wrong
Cheers!
Just a heads up that this is fixed in 1.3.0.
