Move all User Viewstate/ Play History some else from One Install to Another

Server Version#: 1.15.6.1079
Player Version#:

hello all,
I have moved my PlexServer from Windows to Linux (Synology DS).
I’ve already done a support article to export the Plex Home User Viewstate/Play History. but unfortunately this article doesn’t apply to the user / friends I shared the Plex Server .
Also I miss the Play History View in the Dashbord.

https://support.plex.tv/articles/201154527-move-viewstate-ratings-from-one-install-to-another/

Can one will help me or tell me which data to export from the database ‘com.plexapp.plugins.library.db’.

Many Thanks

Why don’t you simply copy the whole database file over?
(both servers must not be running during this)

Of course this will then lead to you having to recreate (or at least repair) the libraries, since the file paths don’t fit anymore.

hello yes I have already tested that, but unfortunately the old private IP address and some other old server settings will be taken over as well

I am only talking about the single database file, not the full Plex data folder.
It is not possible that the IP of the old server is wandering over that way.

Did you forget to use a ‘private’ web browser window and the IP of the new server, for the first contact with the newly installed server?
e.g. http://192.168.1.20:32400/web

I have test to copy the ‘com.plexapp.plugins.library.db’ from the old to the New Plex Server - everything was okay (only need repair the libraries and the file paths) but then I noticed that no remote access is not possible because the old private IP address was also transferred and also the old server version …

do you think this database file ‘com.plexapp.plugins.library.db’. I come over or another file?
Thanks

That’s precisely the right file.

But remote access has nothing to do with this. Do separate the two things. Bring over the data base first, then try to fix remote access.

thanks for your help, i copied the database once again and everything works now also the remote access :grinning:

I must have made a mistake in my first test.
Thank you

To be clear, the guide to move the view state will include your shared user’s. Keep in mind that is based on the agent used so as long as you used the same agent as before, if should have worked.
