I am following the directions “Move an Install to another system.” I imported the registry files as well as copied over the directories in the Plex Media Server area. It registered with Plex ok, but none of my libraries show up for editing the location. I have to recreate them from scratch. I believe this means that any sorting details or genres I have added will not be saved…losing a lot of work.
Also, the live TV-DVR option is not showing up either. So, I guess I’ll have to reinstall that.
This “Move an Install to another system” does not include any troubleshooting tips in case this happens.
It sounds like you might have missed some of the steps.
In case you had moved the server data directory to another location… did you copy the server files from that location?
I erased the contents of the destination Plex Media Server directory and recopied from the source. Everything worked perfectly. All the libraries were found and LiveTV DVR works also. Yipee!
