Move Plex to new Computer without messing with metadata

I am going to change it over to a new PC. Completely new everything. What is the best way to transfer my library and metadata intact without having to mess with the edits again? I am using Tautulli with notifications and want to keep all my settings. My two hard drives will have the same Drive Letter/directory. My Plex Media server folder is on G: drive. Would I be able to move that to a different directory without issues or will I have to make a partition with a directory G: I have over 24 TBs of data with metadata and days spend editing the metadata. I really don’t want to mess things up. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I have already read this https://support.plex.tv/articles/201370363-move-an-install-to-another-system/

In my LOCALAPP DATA folder I had 5 folders Cache, Crash Reports, Logs, Plug-in-support and Plug-ins. My G drive is where all my content and metadata is, over 17GB of data. I have zipped both and backed up the reg

Please explain what you mean by that.
Did you move the Plex data folder over to drive G: or did you simply install plex server software on drive G: (which doesn’t achieve much).

If you did move the Plex data folder to drive G:, you can proceed as follows:
I can’t tell you about moving Tautulli.

Regarding Plex Server, it will be easiest, if you are able to move the physical G: drive over to the new computer.
Then you only need to backup the registry settings, as explained in the above linked article.

Import the registry settings on the new computer.
install Plex server (but don’t run it yet!)
attach the drive and assign it the drive letter G:

That’s about it.

Plex Server is actually installed on “C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server” all my movie/tv posters/metadata stuff is saved on the G: drive. It won’t be possible to move the physical drive over. Converting everything to m.2 or SSD. I can create a partition on the new drive and label it G: Could I follow your steps if a create a new partition with the exact same directory structure, copy the stuff over onto the G: Drive. Do I need to create teh G: drive before or after? Does it really matter if I install Plex Server before I create the G: drive?

Yes, this is viable. Make sure that your plex data partition has enough room to grow, as your media collection grows.

Yes, definitely.

Not really, but you must make sure that PMS is shut down and no remnant of it is still running, when you import the registry backup.

Ok, wish me luck…btw, my data in that folder is over 45GB… lol (2) 14TB drives full of TV and movies
