So I am transitioning my Plex Server from my PC to my unraid file server. Plex is now running in a docker container on the file server and the paths to the library are going to be local paths versus network paths when the library was on my PC. I read some other posts about copying the sqllite DB but will that work if the paths to the media files are different?
It’ll depend.
You can move the original database etc. and subsequently add the new paths to those libraries (preferably w/ automatic deletion of your trash disabled). After completing the subsequent scan, Plex should have all items as duplicate versions and therefore maintaining your watch history or manual edits.
Afterwards you can remove the old paths from the library settings.
Alternatively you can try to only transfer the watch history.
You could also sync to trakt using the trakt plugin. Once the old server is synced the new one will sync the watched status from trakt.
