How to transfer Watched, Played history from one Plex media server to another

Server Version#:
Original PMS version: 1.19.4.2935
New PMS version: 1.19.4.2935

Hello,

I want to move my watched, played history from one PMS to another. Having read countless threads I am still not understanding the straight forwardness within these support Plex articles.

The main objective is to transfer the watch, play history from one PMS to another. I tend to retire the original PMS and move on to the new machine.

Current setup:
Original PMS OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 standard
New PMS OS: Windows 10 home

Both PMS are on the same network, Plex account however, named differently within the Plex Web settings like Server 1 for the original and Server 2 for the new.

I have my movies pointing to the same drive letter and in Plex web it displays it within each server’s tab>manage library>edit.
Original PMS: Y:\Movies Libraries\Movies
New PMS: Movies: Y:\Movies Libraries\Movies

However, my TV Shows are currently drive letter differently.
Original PMS: C:\Media\TV Shows
New PMS: TV Shows: Y:\TV Shows Libraries\TV Shows

I am currently making sure that all the folders/files under drive C:\Media\TV Shows match Y:\TV Shows Libraries\TV Shows

End goal: As I said previously on top is to transfer the watch, play history from one PMS to another. I only care about the watch. play history as when for 1. my movies are already connected in my new PMS library Movies. I don’t care about metadata when I link my TV Shows because Plex can fetch them again and I follow the naming conventions pretty good.

I appreciate the help in advance and if so more info is needed, please let me know. Thanks!

Since you don’t want to import the settings, I think you will only need to transfer Plex folders, skip the regedit part and do the library part exactly the way they say here:

Edit Your Libraries

In order to update the content location for your media, you’ll need to Edit a library and then add the appropriate folder for where your content is located on the destination system. Leave the existing/previous folder location in there for now.

You’ll need to do this for each of your libraries, but you should complete the full process here for a single library before proceeding to do the process for the next library.

If the second server is brand new, the easiest way is to copy the main database file from the old to the new server.
Both servers must be shut down while doing so.

You will have to edit the libraries on the new server afterwards and refresh metadata etc.

The name and location of the database file can be gathered from this article: https://support.plex.tv/articles/202485658-restore-a-database-backed-up-via-scheduled-tasks/

Thanks @OttoKerner and @CostaHT.

Followed the guide and obviously it took some time to fetch all the metadata after pointing the libraries to the new letter drive path but got my watched/played status on the new PMS machine.
