I thought that if i removed the previous location and updated where the files are currently it would just update everything but now i have two albums for everything. One that actually exists and one that doesn’t have a file. I didn’t want all my stats changed and playlists deleted. Any idea on how to just update it? I keep emptying trash and scanning the library what am i missing?

How about swapping the drive letters of old and new drive?
To remove the unavailable albums, you need to edit the library, and remove the reference to the now empty/missing folder.
Another method would be to edit the database directly and replace all references to the old drive letter with the current drive letter. (Only for experienced users) [HowTo] Plex database modification - Moving media the right/wrong way
After updating for like a 5th time it seems to have fixed the issue for the most part some of the playlists are messed up but whatever i guess.
