Hi,
There is a problem: My server users have content suggestions that are not on my server, movies at the cinema for example, from the “Watchlist” tab this is not normal, because I have disabled the 'option for my managed users to see more in search, I don’t see what the Plex streaming service suggestions come here to do, either remove that or list should be based on content I have on MY SERVER. It’s starting to get annoying having to check if Plex isn’t pushing its interface online for my managed users.
Most of your users are no “managed” users.
Each user who is using his/her own password to sign in to Plex is a regular user.
You have no influence over the account of such a user.
The users would have to make the necessary adjustments themselves, by logging in to plex.tv with their respective user credentials. And then going to https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/online-media-sources
The problem is the highlighting of content in the suggestions, which are not on my server, I think the way to push these suggestions must be rethought, the content that is offered by default should be the content of the servers to which the managed user is subscribed.
This screenshot is from an empty Watchlist. It is intended as a kind of illustration and starting point for new users.
The Watchlist is explicitly intended not just for titles who are available now, but may either become available later, or are available via a different avenue.
I posted here because several times I had the problem: My users add content that is not on my server and tell me: It’s weird, I can’t watch this movie? Go explain now that it’s Plex content that is suggested and not my server’s… again you have to fight to circumvent a Plex service addition offered by default to managed users.
I explained already that these users are no managed users.
Then tell them how to disable the settings in their user account.
The screenshot I just took is from a managed user, having a Plex account yes, but being signed up to my server, you seem to be saying these suggestions only show up for unmanaged users???
Users don’t sign up to a server.
Users create a plex account.
If you then decide to share media from your server with that account, doesn’t change the fact that they are totally independent from you and your Plex account.
They can and have to make their own decisions and set their own personal preferences.
The level of influence you seek is only appropriate for true “managed users”, which are members of your family who live with you.
