I know it gets asked about but why has this never been implemented? It’s surely a major requirement to a media tool.
Series auto sort in to seasons why not movies in to box sets.

This is the only thing missing for me since switching to Plex
It is kind of implemented. If you enable it, Plex will download info about movie relations.
It then automatically creates collections, but for some reason these are indexed as a seperate library.
I would like to be able to chose a setting that would instead replace all six Star Wars movies in my library with a single "Star Wars collection" when I browse movies.

In plex terms I think what they really want is AUTO collections...
IE if you have more than one Harry Potter movie a Harry Potter collection is automatically created and populated each time you add a movie.

If you set you Movie Database agent correctly, it will add automatically the collection to the movies scanned.

You need to be more specific since I do not recall seeing such an option.

I agree it need to allow for more organization. By letting you put them into one folder with a collection cover. you click on it and has the whole collection.

I think the collections part works really good but would just like to have all movies in a collection under one poster.
Another reason I would like this functionality, is that I have box sets that have extra DVDs that are not specific to one of the movies. For example, the Alien box set has 9 discs. That 9th disc is a bunch of extra stuff that covers the box set, not any specific movie. SO I currently have no good place to put that content, except to pair it up with one of the movies.
I’d rather be able to navigate to the box set item and see the extras at that level, along side the movies.
This drives me absolutely mad.
How has something so basic not been implemented?
This is one of the very few things that makes me want to switch back to Emby.
PLEASE Plex, listen to your fans/users/customers and do something to implement this.
