Movie files moving

Hello. I would like to upgrade my HDDs with bigger ones. I want to replace 2 separate HDDs with only one. For example content from Disk D : and E: will be copied to Disk F: and then Disk F: will be mapped again as Disk D : . How can I maintain my library metadata without having to scan again from scratch? I have read the FAQ about HDD letter changing but it refers only if I want to replace my drive letters and the disks are at the same capacity. Now that my half content is moving to another disk how it can be done?

Plex will automatically recognize that your media is in a new location. It will not recreate metadata and viewing status will be maintained. Just follow this process https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201154537-Move-Media-Content-to-a-New-Location

If you replace the HDD where Plex stores its metadata pls follow this process https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201370363-Move-an-Install-to-Another-System

Ok thanks for the link. My main issue is that after all this procedure I want to change the letter of my new drive again. Can I do without having to do the same procedure again?

Whenever you change the drive letter you have to update the folder locations in each affected library.

Changing the drive letter and updating the folder location it would start a new scan right?

Yes, but it will be a fast scan.

okey thanks
