Media file contents:
Movies/9 to 5 (1982)/9 to 5.m4v
Movies/12 Angry Men (1957)/12 Angry Men.m4v
Movies/13 Hours (2016)/13 Hours.m4v
Movies/84 Charing Cross Road (1987)/84 Charing Cross Road.m4v
Movies/2001 A Space Odyssey/2001 A space Odyssey.m4v
TV Shows/1600 Penn/Season 1/s1E1 - Putting Out Fires.m4v
Result in Plex Player:
Movies all show up correctly.
TV Shows have 1600 Penn Season 1 shows correctly
A second TV show called “Home Movies” has 4 episodes in season 1:
“9 - Episode 9” 1hr 49 min show I can’t identify (poster is a clip from scene)
“12 - Law and Boarder” is actually 12 Angry Men movie
“13 - Brendon’s Choice” is actually 13 Hours movie
“84 - Episode 84” is actually 84 Charing Cross Road movie
Note that I have no TV or Movie the corresponds to “Law and Boarder” or “Brendon’s Choice”.
My question is how do I name movies that begin with a number so they don’t show up as extraneous entries in the TV section of Plex in addition to correctly showing up in the Movie section of Plex? Thanks!

In case it wasn’t clear from the others’ posts, it’s not enough to simply have your movies and TV shows in separate folders. Your Plex libraries must point to those folders. For example, if you have:
Media/
Movies/
Some Movie/
...
TV Shows/
Some TV Show/
...
In the Add Folders section of your Movies-type library configuration, it must point to /Media/Movies. And in the Add Folders section of your TV Shows-type library, it must point to /Media/TV Shows. Neither of them can point to /Media directly. This is just an example, your actual paths are likely different. But what you’re describing sounds exactly like what we’d expect to see if you had movies in your TV shows library path.
I do have the Movies library pointing to Media/Movies folder and TV Show library pointing to Media/TV Shows folder. But thanks for making that clearer for all.
Now I just have to figure out this “Plex Dance” to get rid of the cached information. On that count, I’m not sure about the reference to “clean bundles”?
OK, I followed your instructions to remove all cached metadata etc. That didn’t quite do the trick. I also had to delete the errant TV Show (Home Movies) manually from the Plex library and once again empty the trash. Then the movies and TV shows all look as I expected.
So I think this particular issue is resolved.
I’m sure I’ll be back with more (unrelated) questions as I delve deeper into Plex. Lots of homework to do before I can go “live” with this system!
