Movie Names

I want to turn off the auto naming functionality for my movies at home. So lets say I have 1 movie and the file name is movie1.mp4 and the second one is movie2.mp4. How do I set the library to only show me the file name? I do not need Plex to go out to some server and try and determine what movie it is and sometime it gets it wrong so the title is incorrect. There are some situations where it is not show all of the movies even though they are all *.mp4 file names. Seem complicated for some reason and I do not understand why. Other then this one issue it is a really good product.

You can have that by using an Other video-type library.
This will cut away lots of other features but you’ll get what you’re asking for.

how do I do this? Is there a way to do it for a whole folder/library or do I have to do it to each file?

It’s basically a new library.
During setup you can select Other video as the library type.

Best give it a try, creating a new library, pointing it to the existing folder before you drop the existing one. You should be able to achieve the same by setting the agent of your movie library to Personal Media ( > Manage Library > Edit...Advanced > Agent)

Edit: personally I believe it’s always worth the little extra effort to properly name / associate the files as this will give you an overall better experience.

You are the man buddy. It is working a lot better! Thanks!!!
