Movie posters changing automatically

Server Version#: Version 1.25.7.5604

I’ve recently started to notice that Plex is changing movie posters randomly (at least that’s what it appears to me).
I’ve been using Plex for a few years and this has never happened before.
I checked in the Scheduled tasks settings and I’m not sure if there is something I should disable there.
I double checked with Scheduled Tasks | Plex Support, but then again nothing really seems to refer to poster specifically.

Anyone has any idea what I need to change?

Thanks

It’s this setting: Refresh library metadata periodically

A PMS update back in January changed the behavior of this setting, and now it actually refreshes metadata for both movies and shows automatically. If you don’t want that, uncheck that option.

Additionally to @VBB comment… if you manually select a poster or set your own (either upload via GUI or stored in the movie folder) it tends to keep it even after a refresh.

Great thanks for the tip!

It is absolutely not that setting. I’ve had that setting off and Plex still randomly changes movie and TV show posters even after I have manually selected those posters. This is getting REALLY frustrating - especially when, once in a while, it selects a poster that’s not even for the correct item (only happens with similarly named items, but still). This is a relatively new issue for me - within the last 3-4 months.

Are you using the new Plex agent or the old legacy agent?

I just checked and I’m using the new Plex agent. I may switch it back to the legacy one for a while to see if that solves the problem for now.

Well, I’m still experiencing this issue - using the legacy agent didn’t solve the problem. I actually saw it change a poster as I was scrolling through my library. This is seriously getting to be absurd.

I am also still experiencing this problem. Like @ryhanon , even manually selected posters will sometimes change.
I also confirm that this has nothing to do with the setting “refresh library metadata periodically”, as I have unchecked that a while ago now.
