Movie Scanning since 0.9.16.5

It appears that media or more specifically movie scanning in my case movie has broke since at least 0.9.16.5. Each of my movies is stored in a subfolder within /movies (/movies/starwars , /movies/jaws, etc…) The scan engine is not traversing subfolders. I’ve tried 0.9.16.6 and 0.9.16.5 and then reverted back to 0.9.15.6 and normal operations resumed.

Please fix this ASAP, huge issue.

Few users have reported problems with Freebase agent in the last few days. It looks like it’s working properly again. What agent do you use?

No, I’ve tried changing agents without success.

plex upgraded to 6.16 and all content disappeared again. its also hit my tv section now.

Attached are the scanner logs from 9.16.0 and 9.17.0. What I’ve done is a fresh library scen with pms 9.16.0 in place and from the logs you can see that movies are picked up and processed into plex no issues. I then quite PMS and restart with PMS 9.17.0 at which point a library update scans and removes all movies in a library that was not touched. This behavior has existed sine 9.16.5. What is happening? This is not normal nor is my config unique in any way.

I notice you have a .plexignore file in your movie folder. Mind sharing the content of that file.

Thanks, listed below. This was something I tested long ago that never appears to work. I’ll remove to see if that helps.

Mac-mini:Movies bryan$ more .plexignore

Ignore .ite files and directories

*.ite
*.ite/
/.ite
/.ite/
Mac-mini:Movies bryan$

I could kiss you, that was it!!! … that file was created more than a year ago in an effort to have plex overlook iTunes extras files, appears that newer PMS versions don’t like this at all!!!

There was a change to the way .plexignore works. I don’t have the details but before it would only apply to new files being scanned, but now it will impact existing items too. My guess is that one of the lines with the * is accidentally telling PMS to ignore all files.

agreed, I was playing with that before to have iTunes extras stripped out, sounds like that might work now if I could get the wildcards set right. awesome, thanks for the help on this one… I had to have looked right over that that darn log line 10 times.
