Plex skipping over properly named directory and files.

Hi,

Can anyone shed some light on why Plex is skipping over a newly created directory? I’ve checked the naming/sub-folder convention against theTVDB. I’m only finding this problem with this particular folder.

(…/TV Shows/ is the library folder.)

It seems to push the files to the job stack as it should, but fails when it comes to popping them off and processing them.
I’ve read several posts with somewhat similar issues, thus I’ve;

  • cleaned bundles,
  • emptied the trash
  • optimised the database
  • Deleted all of /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/ and started fresh

And as you can guess none of that worked, so I figure that they are redundant bug fixes for old versions.

Thanks in advance.

The scanner consider it already scanned and skipping it
remove files, re-scan, they add them back and they will be scanned, at least once (unless it crashes and next time it will think it already scanned it and that nothing changed in folder since last scan)…

OR

please use my scanner, and attach normal and custom scanner logs. link is in my signature

Your scanner worked once I installed it, removed the folder, re-scanned, and replaced the folder. Well done.

It’s a shame Plex have built such a strong idea on buggy scripts, it really lets the brand down when the idea comes to practice.

Now I’m having the same problem with the movie scanner, moreover it won’t remove a movie from the library when it’s no longer in the folder (again, emptied trash, cleaned bundles etc etc). This is getting silly.

a library can have multiple root folders, some of which can be on removable drives (firewire, usb) and be listed while not be in the folder anymore

you need to re-scan to update the library and if the folder content change it works. If the scanner crash while scanning, it give loads of issues as it won’t always re-scan. It gave me grief during my scanner devlopment

The default movie scanner wors decently normally… can you attach the scanner log maybe ?
