On my Samsung TV, i’ll go to Source, then Plex Media Server or something like that, (I’m not in front of my tv at the moment), and will go through the menu. Videos > Movies> By Folder > (movie name) and when I select the movie, it won’t play. Error has occurred, etc. I don’t remember the exact message. But I look at the details when the movie is highlighted and it will show the size of the file. On some of them it shows 0.00bytes. Anyone else have this problem?
Same issue here. Did you fix that?
The file will show 0 bytes when the stream is going to be transcoded, this is because the server has no way of knowing ahead of time what size the new stream will be so it reports it as 0 bytes.
Trying to figure out why you are getting ‘Error has occurred’ message you would need to check your corresponding Plex DLNA server.log and Plex Media Server.log to see if any error’s are occurring when the file is attempting to be transcoded.
I have the same problem and here’s exactly how it happened. I had a Plex server running perfectly, then I decided to play with the Users. As soon as I created the first user, it turned off DLNA by default. I turned it back on but then I noticed that SOME but not all of my media isn’t playable via DLNA. They DO play through Plex APP. I also have 2 Samsung TV’s and they both have the same problem. Rebooting, fiddling, has never fixed the problem. I even deleted all the users hoping to put it back “as it was before” and nothing worked. I checked file permissions, nothing. Haven’t bothered to check the logs YET but I did not have this problem before creating any users. As soon as I created a single user the problem surfaced…
i have the same issue but only with recordings produced by my new Canon camera. my old canon created same file type and play without issue. kind of at a loss. if anyone has more info i would appreciate it. if i do find an answer i will come back and post it
