What difference does it really make whether videos are placed in a “Movie” library versus an “Other Video” library. These are videos I created, not videos ripped from commercially-available DVDs
Please advise. Thank you.

‘Other Videos’ is using the ‘Personal Media’ metadata agent.
Which means it only takes the file name and the contents of some embedded meta tags (only from mp4/m4v files) and imports them into Plex.
A ‘movie’ library uses either the ‘Plex Movie’ or ‘The Movie Database’ agent and tries to ‘match’ the video file to one of the records in these databases. It then downloads metadata about these movies for use in Plex.
The latter is therefore not the right library type for you, if your video files are made by you and have nothing to do with commercially available movies.
