Metadata question for personal home video files

Hello–

So I have uploaded a number of professional movies - all good there. Next I was hoping to upload some personal home video files into a new ‘movies’ library, but I would prefer Plex not try and find metadata for the files since there obviously won’t be any, etc.

Any easy way to do this?

Use an ‘Other Videos’ Library Type - Plex won’t try to match any of it.
or
If you want to keep those items in your Movie or TV Show Libraries - Fix Match then in the Search Options change the agent to Personal Media - that too will stop matching efforts for that particular item (Movie/Show).

Personally, I use Other Videos mostly - for things I KNOW are unlisted and Personal Media on demand when something unexpected occurs with an oddball Show or Movie (I don’t feel like, or have time, to add to an online database).

Note: If you have items you want to behave like TV Shows - one episode leads to the next, etc. - you MUST name and structure those items according to the Plex Naming Standards, put them in a TV Show Library, but then set Personal Media Shows (I think that’s the name - you’ll see it) so Plex won’t attempt any lookups:

Thanks for the quick response and helpful info! Just what I was hoping for.
