Movies stop playing

I’ll try to describe this the best I can.

Happening on a Win10 machine. It’s a ViaoPC w/ 4gb of ram, an SSD and Chrome as the browser.
During a movie it’ll just stop, when I hit play nothing happens at all. If I exit out of the player and reenter it at the left off time stamp it’ll play for a few seconds and stop again.
If I go to another machine (win10 or win7) it will also do the same thing. Even though it never happens on one of the other machines.
If I go to the server (win7) and play from where it left off it will play, then go to other machines and it plays fine, like this one little PC is getting it stuck somehow.
These are .MKV movies size in the 25gb range (blueray)
The server is running the latest from plexpass and has quite a bit of horsepower and plenty of free disk space.
Movies are streaming in original, no transcoding necessary
The actual movie files are on another superfast file server.
Nothing wrong with the movie files themselves as my workaround when this happens is to play the movie w/ VLC - no probs.

My only ‘theory’ is that 4GB isn’t enough for the Viao, so I’ve ordered another 4gb, but I doubt it’ll make a difference as I upped the pagefile size and it made no difference. Also once a movie is messed up, the problem happens wherever (other machines) I try to resume it.

Quite an annoying little problem that I’ve been struggling with for some time. Sometimes it plays just fine, sometimes not. It’s intermittent.

Anyone got any ideas?

Are the pc’s having the trouble connected via wifi?
Streaming in original as set… doesnt necessarily mean they wont transcode.

Logs after this occurs would help greatly as well as answering the other question above.

I would post the logs after this happens so I and others (who are morerer smarterer than me may have a look) :smiley:

Once again I’ve tested my workaround.

On a totally different front end than I usually run I had a failure.
Go to the server via remote desktop and play from the stop point, plays for a few seconds. Then go back to the frontend machine and play normally.
