Movies Unavailable on Plex

I have been using Plex for about 5 months now and think it’s absolutely brilliant. However I’ve just started having an issue which I hope someone can shed some light on for me.

I have multiple libraries for Movies, Home Movies, TV Shows, Music, Photos etc. All of a sudden all of the 744 titles in the Movie library have become unavailable and I cannot work out why.:

  • I have not renamed any of the source files;
  • I have not moved any of the source files;
  • I have not changed or lost any permissions (that I know of anyway)
  • All of the titles in the other libraries stored on the same drive on the same QNAP TS251+ NAS are all still available

I have just updated to latest server version of Plex hoping it may resolve the problem, but it still persists. I am at a total loss as to what the issue is.

Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

Inspect the Plex media info of a few of the movies. Compare the drive letter with what your server computer is currently using to connect to the NAS.

Do you allow your NAS to spin down the hard drives, when they’re not used for a while?

Have you tried to “scan library files” again?

Do you need to input username and password when you want to access your NAS from your Windows computer, particularly after a reboot of the computer?
