Movies will not play after update to DSM 7

Plex Media Server version?

  3. Do not install Plex from Synology Package Center. That version is outdated. Download the current version from plex.tv and perform a manual install.

  4. Make sure the user PlexMediaServer has full control of the /PlexMediaServer shared folder.
    Update: Don’t touch the /PlexMediaServer shared folder. DSM maintains the correct permissions. Thanks to @ChuckPA for correcting me.

  5. Make sure the user PlexMediaServer has R/W access to your media folders.
