I Libraries that I created for my kids to separate out content for them when they were young, I.E. Kids Movies and Kids TV
I would like to movie content from those libraries into the other Movies and TV libraries I have without considering the media as recently added and retain watched status and time progress.
Is this possible?
Only for yourself and only for fully watched episodes/movies
There is no way to do that for managed users, unfortunately.
Enable https://support.plex.tv/articles/sync-watch-state-and-ratings/ and let your server sit online for at least 24 hours before changing anything.
If your kids have their own full accounts, you could enable the same for their accounts as well, but usually kids are added as managed users, which cannot do this.
you are correct on the kids being a manage user so that is fine. I guess the biggest thing is I don’t want many movies and shows to show up like they are new when moving to a new library. I can live without the other metadata items.
The original timestamp on the file is still intact so Plex is seeing it as new to the library regardless of that.
The timestamp would only play a role if this were a completely new Plex library.
If you only added the folders to an existing library, the added files will all be given the current date for “added at”.
So, unfortunately what you want to do is not possible.
