Server Version#: 1.40.1.8227
I’m moving from Plex Media Server from TrueNAS Core to TrueNAS Scale on the same hardware. On the current installation I have set PLEX_MEDIA_SERVER_APPLICATION_SUPPORT_DIR to point to a known location that will still exists when I have reinstalled the system with Scale and linux version of Plex. The location of media will be exact the same. Can I just set PLEX_MEDIA_SERVER_APPLICATION_SUPPORT_DIR and the continue use the same database files? Or is Plex Media Server for FreeBSD using a different database / file-format than Plex Media Server for Linux.
If all media pathnames are the same,
and you’ve moved PMS via the PLEX_MEDIA_SERVER_APPLICATION_SUPPORT_DIR environment variable,
and the new plex UID/GID have access (R/W) to the new location with minimally Read access from root (/) → the App Support Dir (top level),
You should be fine.
You’re doing the same as this:
This is written for Linux but the principle is the same for ANY_OS → ANY_OS.
It will contain all the step. You will recognize those you can skip
Thanks, managed to getting it working. I’m testing it on a ‘test’ TrueNAS Scale box.
