Moving library data from Windows to Linux/Raspberry Pi?

So I’ve been using my laptop (on Windows 10) to host my media server for a while, and while it wasn’t the best solution, it was the only one I had for a while. However, I’ve decided to try and move the server end of things to a brand new Raspberry Pi 3 B+ that should be arriving today. So that I’m not having to wait for my 2 TB of media to repopulate a new library, is there a way to transfer the existing data to the new setup?

Considering the library database contains your Windows based paths (e.g. to your 2 TB of media, but also additional media assets such as posters…), I don’t see how this could work without a lot of tinkering.

Personally I’ve been in your shoes about 1 year ago when I moved my library on a dedicated Linux server. I had also started investigating shortcuts but decided to do a clean setup. After all the initial scan that might take a moment is a one-time thing… while you could end up dealing with broken paths for much longer.

There’a a feature request on this topic… however it appears it hasn’t gotten much love since the forum migration.
