I need to move my media from 3 separate drives to one new drive and I need to protect the meta data, how can I easily accomplish this?

When they say COPY your media to the new location, they do not mean MOVE (copy and immediately delete).

This article calls for scanning the file sin the new location, and I am okay with that, however I really need to preserve the meta data. I have massive amounts of content where I had to correct the name, update the poster, and items that have already been watched. I don’t want any of this lost.
If you follow the support article you shouldn’t lose any metadata.
Basically what happens is copied files on the new drive get scanned in as a duplicate of what currently resides on the old drive.
It should be an identical match.
When you remove the old drive you just go back to having one copy the way it’s always been.

Now that I think about it, I’m actually not sure about media that’s actually not matched at all
If it was never matched during a scan and you input all the info yourself, I’m not sure how that would work.
The posters and watch history shouldn’t change, but if the media isn’t matched and you input your own name I honestly can’t say what will happen
If you have a lot of media that’s not being matched properly you might have some problems with naming
I’d actually like to have somebody confirm or refute this… I’ll be in that situation soon myself.
I have a few series that I’ve had to manually edit so pilots or important specials show up in proper order in the appropriate season. Battlestar Galactica is a great example… I don’t want the pilot to be in Season 00, I want it in Season 01.
I’d hate to lose all that customization.

However, you should keep in mind that the old agents won’t be around forever. I’d experiment with a new library (using the new agent) and try to find a method which works for you.
