Thank you very much for the prompt response. I sa this article earlier, but did and still do not understand it.

The skill set that is needed to perform this action is certainly “advanced”.

Thank you very much. I will look at this… My laptop went dead due to a malfunction and I am trying to reinstall Plex with the libraries.

If you can salvage the hard drive/SSD from it and it is still readable, you have a decent chance.
However if the hard drive is dead, your Plex data are gone. They are not stored anywhere else.

Thank you very much…I have looked at the hard drive from the old laptop as well as the files transferred to the new laptop and cannot find anything on there. It may have become corrupted as apparantly some files were when the computer turned itself off. I have reinstalled the server and plex for windows so that I can start creating libraries from scratch, but the when I select manage libraries, there is no option to add new ones…My IT contact who set Plex up for me is no longer available… Are you able to assist. Thank you very much. Kind Regards, Michael

Use method 2.2: You need to reclaim your server, but don't dare to touch the Windows Registry

Thank you very much for this. It still looks fairly complicated. If I deleted all the Plex files and download new files, will this work, and then log into plex with my details.

You still may need to remove the registry data from the previous installation.

Thank you very much for your reply. Although I am computer literate I still find the articles very high brow. If I uninstall the Plex, and then reinstall, can I login with my details; (I have a Plex Pass.)
Is this an option. I’ve searched the files you mentioned in the previous replies and have been unable to locate them. They may have been corrupted and were not transferred across in the backup.
Looking forward to a reply of further solutions.
Kind Regards, Michael

Yes. You can use your account on as many machines as you like. Even at the same time.

Thank you for your reply

I have managed to add libraries to Plex. However, when I log into Plex.TV or Ples Web, there are no Libraries apart from a blank screen. I have checked the login details and they are identical.
Could it be looking at a different server and if so, how do I rectify this. There is also a problem with Remote access, and indirect connection which is probably linked to the above issue. Thanking you again for your assistance.
Kind Regards,
Michael

But how did you then create those libraries?

Do you happen to have more than one Windows user account on this machine?

Thank you very much for your reply. Having two accounts was a thought, but I have used the same username/email address and password. Could they be on different ip addresses. If so, where do I look.

Further to my above reply, Plex Web cannot find the server. I have logged out and then into both Plex Server and then Plex Web with no positive results. Both appear to have the Server listed under authorised devices,

I meant Windows user accounts, not Plex accounts.

I only have one windows account. Any idea’s why Plex is behaving like this.

No, this doesn’t happen for me.

Which web browser are you using? Use either Chrome or Firefox and make sure to instruct the browsers to NOT delete the cookies of plex.tv when they’re closed.

Are you using one of these browser features which do sync the login information and open browser tabs between several computers and mobile devices?

Apart from that, I can only recommend to repeat the procedure in
