Hi all,
My Plex library has disappeared! I started Plex today (having watched something last night) and my entire library is missing. I can access the hard drive used for storage on the server, either through the network or through RDP. I am using a miniPC as my server, running Windows 11 Pro. My content is stored on a Storage Space Windows mini-NAS thing. I can’t see my library through Plex, but I can see all my files. Am I going to have to set up the libraries again? I have updated everything that can be updated and restarted the MiniPC; still no joy.
Trying to access my server on my Android phone, it sees BeeVee23, but says it’s offline. Actually, now that I look again it doesn’t appear at all. I wish I’d taken a screenshot as proof.
Are you logged in to the account that the server belongs to?
Are you on the correct user?
Did you pin the libraries?
Is the hard drive with the content mounted?
Is file sharing between the systems established and working?
I’m just throwing out some easy ones for you to check. It’s a bit difficult to get a full picture of what you are experiencing.
No. I have an ethernet connection for my server set to 192.168.1.99 and a wifi connection set to 192.168.1.100 (no DHCP). Either way, a connection to the address you wrote is refused (Unable to connect) and the above two IPs time out.
Okay. I did the regedit stuff; I rebooted the machine (just in case) and since it starts Plex on boot, I could log back in with the local web app. I still have the same problem, my libraries are not shown and I don’t see a way to add them back in.
Let me give you how my server is set up more completely.
Server : Mini (it’s a MiniPC running Windows 11 Pro recommended in the recent Plex Pro Week videos)
Content: Attached to Mini with USB 3, it’s a Windows Storage Spaces of 7.5TB made from four disparate drives. It has worked well for years
Main clients, all in local network: Knife: An AMD Threadripper PC running Windows 10 Pro; TCL Smart TV running Plex; my Android phone that is sometimes inside the local network, more often outside it
I share my library with several friends, none of whom can see it right now
Mini’s Windows Defender firewall is off for local connections. Knife and Mini are both connected to the router through ethernet; the phone is 4G or WiFi.
I use RDP to access Mini or I go into settings in Chrome on Knife.
Ummm, trying to think of other stuff… tell me if you need anything else.
There should be. I have libraries for TV, Films, Documentaries, Animation and Music, but 192.168.1.23 is Knife, not the server. That should either be Mini on 1.99 or 1.100 (depending on whether you are connecting over ethernet or wifi).
