Moving to new computer

Hi. I have A Synology 8bay diskstation (almost full) connected to my wifi and my main computer server is on is an old mac mini. Lately, the mac mini has been acting up a lot. It keeps freezing and I have to force quit plex or finder windows and reopen Plex because for some reason it keeps switching out of my main Plex server to a random server I don’t even remember setting up.

I recently bought a new HP desktop with an i7 processor and more space and would like to migrate the existing server from the mac mini onto the HP. However, I do not want to lose all my metadata and my watch-lists/statuses, nor do I want my friends who I share my server with to lose their data also. How can I do this effectively and with ease? The worst case scenario is to start fresh on the HP and rescan everything (it took me forever to clean up the metadata…again).

ALSO - I have an additoinal WD My cloud 6tb connected to the wifi - is it possible to connect that to Plex?

Looking forward to any help I can get! Thank you!

Not 100% but this might get you started.

Though it’s not cross-platform (Mac to Windows) but it might give you better understanding of what data you need to keep.
