Moving watched statistics, ratings, and categories from windows to linux

I have recetly moved my PLEX library and server from my windows laptop to a linux machine.
Everything went fine with the linux box except i have lost all my server settings like ratings, categories, what i have watched and how long. i attempted to follow the article here but it does not appear to have worked. Does anybody have any ideas how i can accomplish this?

I realized i did not unzip the backup to the right location. now that i have done so Plex Media Server will not even start.
