Much faster (hopefully), smaller (mostly) and better PMS builds preview (1.15.0.573-123756e9a)

I’m running PMP on my samsung tv and with directplay i’m not noticing any sync issues.

Build 1.15.0.573-123756e9a works great with my synology DS118. Very responsive.

Update 1: All my device are in Direct Play in LAN or 4G Network. No lag when streaming.
Update 2: Today I have to restart the Plex Media Server that was stopped.
Update 3: 4K movies play well with this config from iOS, tvOS and Android TV client

I downloaded 1.15.0.573; I’m experiencing the same error that I reported in this thread (“Streaming this media is unsupported”) . Guess it’s back to 1.14.0.5470 for me.

Many thanks @i_am_mortimer for that clarification! It seems to have cleared itself for some reason on my remote users Samsung TV, I was shocked when he said he was having this issue also.

Dave

I also have DS118 but the transcode still freezes. When i downgrade the movies to 720p or disable subs, the movies play well. How come???

Installed 1.15.0.573 on my Qnap 231+ and it seems to have helped with playing network channels fed as MPEG2 from HD Home Run Prime, but the program still dies after about 15 minutes producing “weak signal” error message on our Roku TV

No channels playing via PMS on Chrome, see my post at How to handle MPEG2 on Roku?

Without more information, it sounds like you are exceeding the CPU capabilities needed to keep up with real-time playback.

Subtitle burning is extremely CPU expensive.
Lowering to 720p lessens it.

Disabling subtitles for your 1080p is the best first test.

1.15.0.573-123756e9a is much improved on my 418 NAS!

Much less cpu and ram usage.

Been working pretty great! I’m running synology armv8 version.

Is there a reason why Plex Music Premium isn’t available on these builds? Will it be enabled on later beta or official builds?

The reason we haven’t been able to provide it yet is because our vendor hasn’t provided us with the runtime libraries. That’s all we’re waiting for. When we get them, we will be able to enable and then include.

Running Centos 7.5 the newest beta had this show up in dmesg after a crash. I will grab logs sometime today when i get a chance…

Works fine at my Synology DS918+.

Is there a chance to get nativ support of enigma2 boxes like VU+ with its own EPG at DVR and LiveTV?

573 works great on NUC8(i5) with Win10 Pro x64. Absolutly stable and fast, I love it!

Thank you, not the answer i was hoping for. My DS218Play performs flawlessly with 4K trans-coding and multiple active streams so I assumed it would be a doddle for music.

Trying to get this to work on my DS118 and it doesn’t want to play files locally or from a mounted network drive. :frowning:

One thing i have noticed (not sure if this was the case with the current stable version as well) is that subtitles added with subzero are a bit of a mess. When starting a tv episode it usually picks the correct subtitles, but if i want to manually switch to another one (or browse the online versions) it shows me all subtitles for all episodes in that season, making it impossible to pick the correct ones.

That is a known SubZero issue, AFAIK.
Ask about it here: [REL] Sub-Zero 2.6.4.2911 - Subtitles done right

Just installed 1.15.0.573-123756e9a.x86_64.rpm on CentOS 7.6. Everything looks fine so far.

Holler if you want a full regression test done or logs dumped.

Finally… the only bad point for me with the version 1.15.0.573 (On Synology DS118) is that Plex Server Service stops 1 or 2 times a day and that I have to restart it.
