There’s already a number of suggestions discussing the option to have cross-library collections.

1. focus on regular collections

Allow Collections to include Movies from multiple libraries

A related movie from another library, say my Documentaries Library could also be included in my Collection that resides in Movies. Currently, all the movies must be in the same library.

2. focus on smart collections (and playlists)

Currently, we can only create smart playlists within a single library at a time. For those of us with more extensive setups, we may have multiple libraries of the same type (movies, TV, etc). It would be great to allow for us to create smart playlists that include content from multiple libraries! For example: If I want to create a “Holiday Specials” playlist, I must currently do so manually. This is because there are TV episodes, movies and cartoons which all fit this description, and all 3 of …
