I have read some post close to my question so if there was a solution somewhere else please link it for me to find.
I want to keep together movies that are part of a series like you would with tv shows.
like back to the future has 3 parts and to just have a folder with them nested under movies.
Is there a way to do this? or is it being considered in a future update where movies that are part of a series can be shown like a tv show?
Or, if you do not wish to use collections or you want movies to appear in their logical order rather that the very limited order provided by Plex you can use the Sort Title field in the meta data.
Example: If you sort the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit movies by name you get a jumble and if you sort by date released the the LOR movies come before The Hobbit but neither of those are really the order they should be watched in.
I use the sort field and simply have the filed contain “Hobbit xx” where xx reflects the viewing order. I use two digits as a matter of habit. It comes in useful when, like has happened in the “Star Wars” series, they release movies the really go in the middle of what is already out. So you can end up with a numbering series like. 10 20 30 31 32 40 50 60 etc. This allows up to 9 movies between earlier releases. That is usually enough but, should it not be, you can add leading or trailing 0’s to increase the total number in the series or the number in between movies.
for collections can the tag be set to multi files at one time? Example I have a collection of around 20+ elvis movies, is there way to set the collection tag to all of them at once instead of one at a time?
