Multi-part DVD content has playback errors

So, I finally got annoyed with my rocking out being interrupted. My setup is an i7 8th gen, nVidia Q P2000, 64GB RAM, running Plex deb on Ubuntu 22.04.3. Content direct streams over wired connections to nVidia Shields - all of which have this issue.

I have all of the KISSology sets and are ripped and labeled as follows:

  • /media/storage2/Videos/Concerts/KISS/Kissology Volume III (1992-2000)/Kissology - Volume 3 (1992-2000) dvd1.m4v
  • /media/storage2/Videos/Concerts/KISS/Kissology Volume III (1992-2000)/Kissology - Volume 3 (1992-2000) dvd2.m4v
  • /media/storage2/Videos/Concerts/KISS/Kissology Volume III (1992-2000)/Kissology - Volume 3 (1992-2000) dvd3.m4v
  • /media/storage2/Videos/Concerts/KISS/Kissology Volume III (1992-2000)/Kissology - Volume 3 (1992-2000) dvd4.m4v

I have two annoying playback issues:

  1. Resume to any DVD 2 - 4 starts playing at the beginning of the particular DVD and not where I left off.
  2. Resume to any DVD 2 - 4 results in wrong chapters being used, using DVD 1 chapters and chapter images instead.
  3. Trying to forward to approximate place, if it is more than ~1500 seconds causes Plex to crash and restart.

Is there any solution out there to minimize any of the 3 issues above?

I have considered merging content, but I’m not sure if that’ll cause any audio losses which would ruin my rock-out sessions when the wife and kid aren’t home. (ex:
ffmpeg -f concat -safe 0 -i files.txt -c copy output.mp4 )

Happy to post the XML file for the content if that’s safe to do.

Much thanks!
