Multi-Part Episodes - Marking as Watched, But Still Re-Playing

I have been researching for days on this issue and see that it was “fixed/implemented” in December of 2019. However, I am not yielding the same results. I read the entire thread pertaining to this:

If I have a multipart episode, EXAMPLE: Show S01E01-E02, it will play the 2 part episode and then still immediately play the same 2 part episode again. I am confirming that both episodes are marked as “Watched” as well. I am currently running Version 1.19.1.2630.

Is it still a known issue that Plex will replay the same multipart episode(s) back to back? It seems like this isn’t an issue anymore for anyone else. Any information of guidance would be greatly appreciated.

What this means:

rwoffice stated: "Currently if you have a file labeled S01E01E02 and you play Episode 1 then both episodes play as a single continuous episode. After it finishes, it marks Episode 1 as Watched, then starts playing the exact same episode again because it thinks it’s “Episode 2”, which is obviously wrong.

What it now does is play the file labeled S01E01E02 , then when it finishes it marks both Episode 1 AND Episode 2 as Watched, and then correctly starts playing Episode 3."

Any guidance out there? It seems as though it is “adding duplicate files to the playqueue”. And I am sorry for bringing up what seems like an already solved issue, just not working for me and I have tried everything I know.

Well, to partially answer my own thread, I uncovered something.

While streaming via the Plex.tv app on my mac, it plays seamlessly. It plays multipart episodes, marks all parts as watched, and then goes on to the next “un-watched” episode.

However, my issue arrives when streaming via the Plex application on my ROKU tv’s. For whatever reason, on Roku software/tv’s, it appears that it will only mark all multipart episodes as watched…however it will still replay all episodes. ie: If it is a 3 part episode - it will play 3 times back to back to back - even though they are marked as watched.

I’m guessing it is a Roku app issue.
