Multiple Disk Collections Keep Combining

Server Version#: 1.19.2.2737
Player Version#: 4.22.3

I have a number of multi-disk collections. They have all been tagged correctly (metadata), and all reside in separate directories, but Plex will randomly combine disks together under one entry. This didn’t use to happen, but since I had to completely rebuild my library (long story), my server seems to exhibit this behavior. I guess I can live with it but prefer not to. Any ideas?

Plex overhauled the Plex Music scanning agent several months ago. It is much more powerful, and more accurate, as long as your embedded tags are correct and your folder/file structure meets Plex’s needs. I thought my tags were in good shape too, but the new scanner revealed a fair amount of mistakes. I recommend double-checking your tags, and your configuration of Plex. Start with a multi-disc album that isn’t getting added correctly. It might be helpful to provide screenshots of the tags for the album, and the folder structure for the files.

Checked the tags, everything is consistent throughout the multi disk collection. Folders are in a Drive:\My Music\Performer\Individual Album hierarchy. It seems the Plex scanner has only one entry for this collection and that is one long list of songs(!). I must say I’m slightly perPlexed…haha.

Provided, you have pointed your Plex Music Library to ´[drive letter]:\My Music´, here is how this is supposed to work

This screenshot is showing both folder structure, file names and embedded meta tags.
