I updated to Sequoia last week and have not see this. Does it actually list the path there? Do you only start it from the Applications folder? Do you have more than one user profile on that computer?
Do you have Apple’s firewall on? If so, try switching it off - sorted out a bunch of network issues for me (not Plex related though as I run Plex on my QNAP).
Yes, if you right-click, it gives the option to go to the path in Finder. Yeah, I start it from the Applications folder. The first time it prompted to allow Local Network access, I declined. I may have declined twice before agreeing, but I’m not sure. Only one user profile on the Mac.
I do have the firewall on and would hesitate to turn it completely off. There are 2 options related to Plex in there, and they both are set to “Allow incoming connections”.
It’s less concerning than you think if your Mac is already behind your router’s firewall, but it’s up to you of course. I would certainly try it to see if it makes a difference as a test.
I would recommend installing LuLu for outbound control.
Thanks, @BigWheel. I did look into that, but it seems the Local Network section isn’t applicable to the tccutil command. I do wonder if reinstalling Plex would resolve the multiple entries.
The main issue I’m facing is the disconnecting. Do you have any recommendations or can it be determined if it is a bug?
Could be a bug but there are so many reasons it might disconnect. I know a bunch of us have Sequoia installed and have not seen it.
I was wondering if a reinstall may fix it as well. Just make sure to back up the PMS folder and the settings .plist file if you are going to wipe completely so you can restore if desired.
If that does not work then server logs may shed some light
restoring on mac is just putting those in the default locations and when the server launches it will use them instead of creating new ones from scratch.
Thanks for confirming those. I uninstalled Plex and restarted the Mac. The 3 entries in Local Network remained, however. Are those entries supposed to be removed automatically when certain files relating to Plex are removed from the system?
I reinstated the 2 backed up items and added a new Plex Media Server.app back to the Applications folder. Everything looks like it did before, so the restore worked great. I haven’t been able to test whether it’s still disconnecting yet but will post how it goes.
Hi, I can confirm that the issue is still present after reinstalling. Looks like the 3 Local Network entries and the disconnecting issue are still present. Should I send in some logs?
