Multiple plexamp headless clients giving "No server found"

Server Version#:1.41.3.9314
Player Version#:4.11.2, 4.6.1

Hi,

I’ve had the same server and same headless Plexamp clients talking happily for years now. Today I rebooted one of the clients, and after logging in I got the message “No servers found.” In testing I logged another of the Plexamp clients out and after logging back in I got the same message. Same goes for a third headless client.

My other clients (Samsung TV, iPhone, macOS) all work fine. I logged out of Plexamp on my phone, logged back in and it was fine. It’s only the Plexamp headless that fail at “No servers found”. All three.

All of my clients are on the same subnet as the server. No configurations have changed. When I log in to each client I receive an email saying I’ve logged in.

One thing I haven’t tried is getting a new token - because I don’t know how to delete the existing token.

Help‽

Thanks,

Scott

are you in the browser interface for headless when seeing the no servers found message ?

there was a recent chrome update that required allowing local network access

if that’s not the issue and you want to try a new token for headless, there are some instructions near the end of this headless setup guide

Thank you so much. That was it. Edited the following from chrome://flags/#local-network-access-check and all was well:

You should not disable that globally. Just make an exception for app.plex.tv.
Because this check is usually a good thing.

Good advice. Updated my post to the more secure approach. Thanks.

Actually the above didn’t work. Plexamp headless via the browser could not see any content with the above changes. I can’t add my Plexamp URL since only secure URLs can be exempted from local network access blocking.

on second thought, the browser’s local network access permissions might not be relevant for headless … i just checked my headless browser pages, all are working and none of them have asked for that permission since the recent chrome updates (in site settings for headless-hostname:32500, local network access is still set to “ask(default)”)

aside from the browser, is headless visible and working if you connect from another client (from your mac or iphone app, for example) ?

Yes once set up it works fine from the phone app. It’s just that without playing with the browser permissions I was unable to select the library after logging in.
