Multiple versions of one TV-show not showing up correctly

Hello friends!

I have a decent problem with Plex which I can’t solve myself (the first time in my life so far! ;-))

I have a German TV series (“Berlin, Berlin”) that my otherwise beloved Plex just can’t handle.
I work with unique naming conventions in the following style:
/Media/Movies/…
/Media/Series/Berlin_Berlin/Season1/S01E01.mkv
/Media/Series/Berlin_Berlin/Season1/S01E02.mkv (and so on)
This works well for almost all other TV series - only this one series brings me to the edge of madness… :frowning:
One thing: the series is not known to any media agent (that’s probably the cause of the problem - but I have it with other German series, too, and the problem doesn’t occur there like that).

I let Plex index everything, that looks good so far. It even recognizes the intros, creates thumbs, all chic.
When I try to start an episode, it gives me a video of a completely different series (which is also on my Plex! :frowning:
Looking in the media info for a particular episode I see that Plex has identified a total of 3 video files for this series!
The other two video files have the same nomenclature (SxxEyy), but with a different extension (they are *.ts - files).
I can basically fix it by clicking “play version” on each episode - but somehow that’s annoying.

Actually, I just want to delete the association of each of the other two video files - but I can’t do that. I see them in the file info - but the data is greyed out, I can not change anything there.

Do you have any idea what this could be - and especially how to fix it? That would be really SUPERB!

Thanks for your help and best regards
Jens.

Is it one of the shows on this page?

Hi there!

Yes - it’s the first one!!
What am I doing wrong, can you help?

Cheers
Jens.

Make this the name of the show folder. Just copy and paste it as I have it

Berlin, Berlin (2002) {tvdb-80249}

You may have to Plex Dance <–click

Ok, I’ll try that.
One thing that still looks strange to me: why doesn’t the “Fix Match” feature show up that series in the list? Will Plex Dance really fix that even when the show is not listed there?
May I have to adjust Agent settings?

That might be dumb questions but I don’t know it better… :frowning:

Thanx for your help!

From what you’re describing it sounds like the show is being merged with another show

In order to “fix match” something you have to unmerge the two shows first

You can do that but renaming it fixes the root cause and this won’t ever happen again

HA - that worked out for me!

Many, many thanx, mate! :-*
I would most probably not have figured that out by myself.

THANX!!

P.S.: What I had to do was to move all 3 series away from my tv-show-folder in order to see the entry disappear - but not really a big deal as I simply moved it away to the upper folder (and moved it back again afterwards).

Yeah I should have suggested you do that. Sometimes if items get matched as a duplicate it’s a little harder to get things unassociated with each other.

Glad you got to work though
