How about multi touch playback controls for iPad? A lot of the Chinese media apps have this for example iqiyi (https://appsto.re/au/O_wAy.i)
The way it works you tap twice on the video to stop playback, swipe left to seek backward, right for forwards, up / down for volume and pinch to exit full screen. It’s super intuitive and really addictive.
Also really convenient, saves fumbling for the volume buttons on a plane or looking at the screen when you need to pause in a hurry.
