I have one music album that absolutely refuses to behave. The agent finding the album description seems to be wrong. The album in question is called ‘Images Of Metheny’ by the guitarist Jason Vieaux, but it keeps on being named as by Pat Metheny as artist. Even though the album is in tribute to Metheny, it’s certainly not by him.
‘Scan Library Files’, ‘Refresh All Metadata’ and ‘Fix Match>Automatch’ all produce the wrong result. The problem appears to be higher up the ‘foodchain’ than I think I have access to. Is there somewhere, like Gracenote DB, I can report it to? Thanks.
Thanks for your response. I don’t know, I will try and have a look for “Prefer local metadata”. I have been looking under (My server)>Agents>Albums; please tell me where I should be looking if that’s wrong
It should be on that same Advanced Settings screen for the associated Music Library, it does allow for you to disable those overrides when it does the metadata refreshes but as noted here, if your music is not properly tagged and you enable this, the results might be a step backwards from where you are now.
Many thanks. I wanted to check that the “Prefer local metadata” option is not selected, but I couldn’t see it under (My server)>Agents>Albums. Am I looking in the wrong place? I only have “Personal Music Albums” (which I cannot deselect) and “Local Media Assets (Albums)”
If you do, it will prefer your local metadata tags to what is downloaded from the internet, and makes overriding those things a bit easier in my experience.
Need to check the new Metheney, have been on a heavy Jakob Bro kick for the last… year or so.
