So is there seriously no way form me to create a collection in my music library and then hide it from the main library view.?
I have about 175 “Now That’s What I Call Music” volumes that I want to hide from the main library by creating a collection and choosing to hide it like I do with movies and tv shows, but I can’t seem to find a way to do that.
How is this not an option already? I have massive artist collections. I have over 40 albums of many many many artists but have no way to hide the albums from the main library.
And with Google music shutting down and Spotify on the brink of closure due to copyright issues I would think that developers would focus a good portion of their development to make the music portion of Plex as flexible and manageable as the “movie” and “TV show” portions. I would love to have the same abilities as I have with the other libraries and have the collections display THE EXACT SAME WAY as the other library collections.
Well that was more sarcastic than anything. They are about to raise their rates a considerable percentage so I was more implying people will be leaving and cancelling their accounts in droves.
I also would like collections in the music library as I have a lot of soundtracks and compilation discs. The only way I have kind of worked out a solution is to create a tag and tag all of them with it. Or sort artist or sort album. This only kind of works. The other way I basically took all my top hits cds and made them disc 1 of 20. So they all show up under one entry. But when you click on it. It shows like 20 Now this is music CDs
For example. Now this is music 2018 is disc 18 of 20. Now this is music 2001 is disc 1 of 20. Now this is music 20 is 20 of 20. So it’s kind of a janky way to consolidate them but it does keep them all as one item.
