Hi, I’m about to rip all my concert DVDs, but should I put them in a music library or movie? Is there an agent that will populate the metadata?
Thanks
Only a few will have metadata downloaded.
Personally, I use a home video library for these.
I rip them including chaptermarkers. Even though plex does not support them ATM, but other players do and plex eventually will.
That way there is a chance to jump to individual songs.
If it is loaded in the library, I try to get metadata with 'Fix Incorrect Match'. If that fails, I put the details by hand, but I save a text file besides the media files with the details for the case of a server meltdown. One could also use a .nfo file and the XBMC .nfo importer agent.
I put also a folder.jpg to use as poster. And I include a track list by hand in the movie details.
I use movies in general. However, it's easier to make extras and bonus material into more of a TV like thing.
I update themoviedb.org with my entries and handle my weird TV stuff for the extras as indendent one off (using my own inserted plex data).
. One could also use a .nfo file and the XBMC .nfo importer agent.
I'd recommend this myself. I use this method with training videos
