Hi there,
I am curious if there are any controls to manage Music Fades in the server? I am new to Plex and have purchased a Plex Pass. The only instance of MusicFades that I noticed was using the third party app " Plexamp" on my iPad. I am curious if music transition fades can also be achieved using the native Plex Clients on other devices such as the Appstore App, or the Nvidia Shield TV Pro Client App.
just wanted to clarify for you… Plexamp is not third party… it was/is written by Plex employees on their spare time, but still part of plex none-the-less. thus why it’s a plex pass feature applications.
I see ok, did not know that. So is the fades music function only available in Plex Amp App? I noticed it is not available in the default Plex Client (on any platform).
from my understanding you are correct. i believe the normal apps do gapless playback… Plexamp does an advance type of fading called Sweet Fades… in where it analyzes the end of the current song and beginning of the next to determine when to start fading so it doesn’t cut off when it shouldn’t.
i don’t know if they are going to implement this into the normal plex apps though.
Fades are available in those other clients as well (at least in most of them).
on iOS as an example they’re available as a playback modifier (same as repeat, playback speed…). https://support.plex.tv/articles/205671108-media-playback/
From what I have understood, sekthree is however correct that PlexAmp provides “next level fades”.
