Sweet fades not working as I expected

I’m new to Plex and Plexamp. I started using Plexamp because I want to be able to play my entire music collection like a big jukebox. I used to do this with Poweramp, but with Poweramp, I’m dependent on the content on my phone, and since the latest phone models no longer support SD cards, I started looking for an alternative. I’ve now found this in Plexamp, and the only difference is that I now have to play music from my local network.

This music is stored on a mini PC that functions as Home Assistant, and that works perfectly fine.

My question is about the sweet fades (Crossfade) between tracks in my playlist.
This option is enabled, and there are no other settings for it.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t work as I expected. The tracks do not fade into each other. There is also no setting in Plexamp where you can specify how many seconds the crossfade should last.
I’ve tried to find more information about this but haven’t found a solution.

Are there any dependencies that need to be in place for the Sweet Fades feature to work properly?
I would appreciate your input, as I’ve always found this feature quite nice in Poweramp.

Thanks.

Server Version: 4.143.0 (Home Assistant)
Player Version: 4.11.5

Sweet Fades - is NOT as simple as fade in and/or fade out like other players do. Sweet fades analyzes the end of the current track and the beginning of the next track. Plexamp then determines how and when to start fading. There is not definitive “start fading @ X seconds left”. See section below for some guidance.

Okay, clear but too bad it doesn’t work as a cross fade.
Is Cross fade something that will ever become an option in Plex or is Sweet Fade the only option and we have to hope that it works or not based on an analysis of the tracks?

I don’t think you have heard an actual sweet fade yet.
It’s much better than a dumb crossfade.

That is correct indeed.

Forgive @OttoKerner crass response.. Just give your music time to complete it’s analysis. Depending on how big your library is it may take a few cycles. It might be worth the wait, trust me. Ensure all the requisite options are enabled i.e. loudness analysis on the sever and in the specific library. Loudness analysis doesn’t consume that much processing power so you can schedule it to run all the time as long as there are no other demanding tasks running.

Ensure you have Settings → Playback → Audio Output → Sample Rate Matching set to Smart as well. If it is set to strict and two songs play back-to-back with differing sample rates, they can’t fade together.

I have turned on all the necessary options and will analyze the collection and then hear if it is better than dumb crossfade.
I can take it
