Music Files Missing

I have a quite extensive library of properly tagged MP3 files. The other day, I noticed that quite a few of the albums were missing. I confirmed that the files were in fact present and that the file permissions were identical. I tried re-scanning the library, but these files did not show up.

  • I then created a new Music library just pointed at a specific directory (for time sake) and upon initial scan, all the directories appeared.
  • I did a DB check for corruption and everything appears to have come back fine.
  • I loaded WebTools-NG and performed an export of All Music and confirmed that the missing files were present.

Not wanting to recreate the entire music library (I have performed extensive work to ensure that the files are tagged/matched correctly), I decided to roll back to 1.23…1.4602. This appears to have restored all of the missing music.

Not sure if I missed something, but definitely looking for guidance.

Similar problem.
After Plex messed up my library and everything I tried to do to fix it failed, I deleted the library ( after hiding the files so they weren’t deleted ). Then I created a new library, pointed it to the correct folders and fired it up. After almost two days it seemed complete and I was pretty happy. Until I noticed certain albums were missing but the files are physically where they should be… I scanned the library again and they were still missing.
Not very happy!

Same thing here. Songs are in the folder (and I’ve created new libraries and pointed them to this folder) - all to no avail. I’m not missing songs that I wasn’t missing before. There’s no rhyme or reason to this. Some are FLAC, some are MP3 - no common thread I can find.

How are we supposed to troubleshoot this?
