Hi. This is a great scanner as like the others the Plex iTunes one never found more than 50% for me. However, it is picking up audiobooks as well. I dont suppose there is something that can be altered in the script to avoid them is there? I notice there is something about skipping Podcast, Video and ItunesU so is ther away to say not to scan a Genre ‘Audiobook’ or something?

Just wanted to say thanks. Before this scanner I never bothered using Plex for my music.
I’m not 100% I will use it as my home set up uses one Mac Mini for Movies (under the TV) and a second Mac Mini (in my home office) connected to my ReadyNAS NV+ for general file serving, back ups and Itunes. So to use your scanner I have to manually copy the .XML file form one Mac Mini to the other (symbolic links don’t work too well over networks). I don’t like the idea of a few copies of iTunes accessing the music share with management privileges, I rely heavily on the “Automatically add to iTunes” folder for adding music, so more than one copy of iTunes managing the library is a no no.
At least for the first time ever the music section in Plex looks neat, no more “Sting feat. XYZ” and 1000’s of artists.

Thanks vm, this works great. Any way to get the iTunes Scanner to add the year as well?
I am having no luck in getting this to work, it scans then updates with no info. I have checked the Scanner in textedit and made sure it is looking for for the correct XML that exists in my iTunes library.
Does anyone have any advice?
I also am having no luck with this scanner, I have the same problem as Dimitri.
Do I need this to work with iTunes, I can't seem to get Plex to see my music.
